Fever Dream by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child

I generally finish reading Preston and Child novels in one or two sittings, but decided to take it slow with Fever Dream and spent several months on it.  I wanted to savor the experience with Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast and it was well-worth it!  Preston and Child take Pendergast fans on a riveting journey that reveals another aspect of his very complex & intriguing personality.  This is a story of love, death, and revenge that reveals a primal and vulnerable Pendergast — one we can connect with on a more emotional level.  I am so glad that this is part of a trilogy and cannot wait for my next Pendergast fix!
