The Director is responsible for the development and implementation of teaching and learning support programs that support effective teaching and student learning across the CUH campus; the day-to- day operations of the CTL and reporting activities of the Title III Faculty Development grant; facilitates the exchange of information and expertise within the campus community related to effective practices in the areas of teaching, learning, and assessment. The Director will have the vision and expertise to move CUH deliberately and successfully forward in realizing the full capacity of the CTL and advance goals aligned with the Title III Faculty Development grant, namely active learning and assessment, ARM technology, grant writing, the scholarship of teaching and learning and electronic learning objects.
2015-2017 Outreach Director, Associate Specialist, Center for Pacific Islands Studies, School of Pacific and Asian Studies, University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. The outreach director supervises the Center’s outreach program and works closely with the Center’s director and members of the core, affiliate, and student membership on all facets of the Center’s outreach program including the annual conferences, teachers’ workshops, occasional seminar series, publication of the newsletter, Pacific News from Mānoa, and joint projects involving university, community, state, and national organizations. The outreach director serves as the Center’s liaison with public school teachers and administrators, other university and postsecondary institutions, the business sector, government groups, and the general community on all matters involving the outreach program. The outreach director also chairs the outreach committee and oversees the development and maintenance of the center’s Web site. Engagement with local Pacific Islander communities in Hawai‘i is a particular concern of the Center’s outreach program.
