Being new to crewel embroidery but addicted to books, as soon as I opened this book, it was love at first sight! I found this book immediately accessible with projects that are simple and beautiful. Beginners and experts will find this book inspiring and projects can be adapted and applied to many products.
Here’s my first attempt at one of the projects – I plan to mount this on canvas with a ribbon for hanging.
Not only are they easy for beginners, they are great gifts and a fantastic way to use those fabric scaps you have lying around!
Thanks to Jenny Harris for the inspiration!

Adapted from Amigurmi Two!:Crocheted Toys for Me and You and Baby Too, this vine of red flowers makes a lovely Christmas garland. I chain stitched the green vine, then stitched red flowers and used yellow yarn to stitch the flowers to the vine – this makes a yellow center for the flower. The book has instructions for all of the pieces needed – vine, flowers, and leaves.
This is just one of many ideas in Sew Pretty Christmas Homestyle.
